Come to the blue side

We live in a blue planet. This is something that everybody knows, especially since we saw the first images of the Earth from space. Besides, I don’t say anything new if I add that we live in a blue planet because the oceans cover over seventy percent of its surface. However, how many oceanographers do you know? And those who know an oceanographer: do you really know what he/she does? Why is important the study of the ocean or which is its role on the Earth Climate System and on the development and maintenance of life?

If you are interested, I hope I can help you. That is motivation behind this blog. I really think that nowadays scientists have a double responsibility. First, they must improve the knowledge of all of us, as they have always done. And second, today, scientists must also try to communicate their results to the society. Directly, this is the best way in which society can know the result of our work and understand why it is necessary.
